THIS WEEK IN BUDA
Good morning Buda. Memorial Day weekend has officially arrived, and whether your plans involve brisket, a patio drink, or just avoiding I-35 at all costs, we’ve got a few local things worth knowing about this week.
In this week’s Buda Gazette:
Buda gets a new BBQ spot serving up smoked meats + beef tallow fries
A hidden live music patio right off Main Street
A giant new sports bar + golf concept coming behind Starbucks
Let’s dive in.

RESTAURANTS
There’s a new pitmaster in town—Roy Lotz

Buda’s newest BBQ addition is Lotz of BBQ, now serving Texas BBQ out of a food truck at Progress Coffee (750 FM 2001). Founder Roy Lotz, an Austin native, turned a love of backyard BBQ into a full business after friends and family kept coming back for more—and now all of us in Buda get the benefit.
Menu highlights include classics like smoked brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and turkey sandwiches. Additionally, there’s smoked and tallow-fried wings, smashburgers, tacos and lotz of great sides. You’ll need to visit a few times to try it all.

⭐ Eric’s Pick: get the sliced brisket sandwich + tallow fries, you won’t be disappointed.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Catch live music at Cigar Vault’s hidden patio

Did you know there’s a great live music patio tucked just off Main Street? Cigar Vault Buda is one of those local hidden gems that somehow still flies under the radar—a laid-back backyard-style patio with cigars, drinks, fire pits, and genuinely great vibes, especially with this stretch of perfect weather. This weekend they’ve got Beth Lee live Friday from 7:30–9:30 PM and Rene Suaste Saturday, making it a solid local date night or easy evening hangout.

Tap In brings mini golf, beer, and family fun

Tap In could become Buda’s next big social hangout. Planned for 2260 Main Street (behind the Starbucks), this upcoming concept is set to take over a massive 7,000-square-foot space, blending a sports bar with interactive entertainment including indoor mini golf, golf simulators, pickleball, food, drinks, and a built-for-groups social vibe. No official opening date yet, but if they pull it off, this could quickly become one of Buda’s bigger gathering spots.
